Album Info:The bridge was built in 1882. The metal pier was built to replace the masonry pier many years later. The IC used the bridge till about 1990, when the line was sold to Indiana-Hi Rail. When they went bankrupt in the late 90's, the rails and ties were salvaged for scrap. The bridge remained intact until the last part of 2004, when a pier started shifting. The pier finally gave way in the early hours of January 12, 2005 during the flooding of that year, sending the 2 western most spans into the Wabash. The span nearest the shore was cut up as scrap, while the other span vanished in the murky waters of the Wabash.
